Lung King Heen Restaurant Review:

Lung King Heen looks out over Victoria Harbour, and its moniker indeed translates as “view of the dragon.” But, while attractive, the panoramas are not the main focus, with the dishes coming out of the kitchen stealing the attention away from the vistas. First-timers would do well to eavesdrop on regulars who take their dim sum seriously and appreciate chef Chan Yan Tak’s balance of classics like steamed Shanghainese pork dumplings with crab meat served alongside the tradition-twisting baked chicken buns with raisins in Portuguese sauce, and barbecued pork buns with pine nuts. Chef Tak is well known for his commitment to local, organic seasonal ingredients, which is most apparent in dishes like the baked scallop puffs with pear and mushroom. There is plenty for adventurous diners as well (marinated duck tongue with preserved plum), and at dinner the food is elevated with a good selection of healthful Chinese soups offered with fresh seafood and more. Traditional desserts are available, which include the always-reviving chilled mango and sago cream with pomelo.
