THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mad Platter Restaurant Review:
Nashvillians have feasted on comforting, well-prepared contemporary American cuisine at the Mad Platter for more than 25 years. The two-story, red brick structure in Germantown goes back 100-plus years, having started out as a meatpacking business and later a grocery store. Two historic brick buildings cradle the patio. The Mad Platter features a seasonal menu that changes daily. Start rich with crab cakes and lemon caper rémoulade. Fried green tomatoes are available when the season’s right. And for the reasonably priced entrées, we like the duck breast with heirloom grits and pomegranate molasses as well as the rack of lamb with a rosemary Dijon crust. Tiramisu and bananas Foster highlight the desserts. The wine list is nothing special, but offers a number of affordable, tasty choices.
