Manago Hotel & Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Enter this landmark family-owned hotel and restaurant---it opened in 1917---and you are back in old Hawaii. The dining room looks like an antique school cafeteria; the food is American yet distinctly local, served family-style, and remarkably inexpensive. We recommend the fried pork chops, served with macaroni salad. There's always a large selection of fresh fish, including butterfish prepared with miso. We like this place when we want a respite from tourist haunts.
