THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mandevilla Restaurant Restaurant Review:
With its rustic décor, generously spaced tables and covered, year-round patio, Mandevilla is a refreshing departure from the trendier spots gradually making their way into the Conejo Valley. The menu, too, is decidedly old school, but very nicely executed and exhibiting occasional contemporary flourishes. Starters include predictable shrimp cocktail and Caesar salad, but also crab cakes with chipotle cream and black bean sauce. In addition to solid risotto and a wide selection of pastas, we like grilled salmon in lemon beurre blanc, roasted duck with orange-cranberry sauce, osso buco and a satisfying rack of lamb in sour cherry-port sauce. While the wine list may not be extraordinary, it is quite reasonably priced and features a number of interesting labels from California, France, Italy and beyond.
