Mariposa Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant & décor: Ladies who lunch --- especially ladies who lunch and shop at Neiman Marcus --- enjoy this civilized dining room hidden on the lower level of the department store. Prices are not cheap, but considering what you just laid out for those Manolo Blahnik pumps, it's going to seem like the best bargain in town. With tables topped with orchids and crisp white linen and walls lined with original Calder tapestries, Mariposa is worth discovering.
Food & Drinks: Immediately after seating, guests are presented with huge popovers fresh from the oven --- a Mariposa tradition. The signature dish is the Neiman Marcus Cobb, distinguished by large chunks of lobster and a sherry, honey and mustard vinaigrette. Also find a confit albacore tuna sandwich, cheeseburger, pastas and filet mignon. Calorie counts are listed next to each menu item, and there are labels for gluten-free options plus “Go Figure” dishes which list the full nutritional information to help diners make healthier choices. In addition to a selection of wines by the glass, there are specialty cocktails, including a few “skinny” versions.
