Masona Grill is a cozy, easygoing reflection of its cozy, easygoing neighborhood, West Roxbury --- until you open the menu. Then its horizons expand to the Mediterranean. Latin flavors dominate with lots of cumin, lime and mint, but not to the exclusion of others, particularly Euro-Mediterranean; more importantly, their fusion is generally deft. It never occurred to us that pickled onions and balsamic might stand up to grilled chicken livers, but so they do and quite well. Grilled swordfish, served with a spicy hot pepper sauce and Spanish slaw, and a dark chili-rubbed pork tenderloin with black beans, sweet maduros and garlicky spinach are standouts. End the meal with the light coconut cake with hazelnut praline, topped with caramel sauce.
