THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mason's Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Mason’s reinvented fine dining in Sacramento with its contemporary menu and cosmopolitan décor. The custom-designed interior is modern yet classic, understated yet refined. The menu changes regularly, with chef John Gurnee focusing on locally-grown, seasonal ingredients. For a starter, we recommend the satin-smooth celery root and apple soup with sage pistou, featuring flavors reminiscent of holiday stuffing. The pan-roasted chicken breast entrée was tender and moist, the natural juices not overpowered by the light seasoning. Desserts are also well executed, including the toffee-topped butterscotch pot de crème. The knowledgeable and attentive waitstaff is happy to pair a wine with your meal---by the glass or the bottle---from dozens of selections from around the globe.
