THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Anthem Kitchen + Bar Restaurant Review:
Faneuil Hall restaurants typically attract tourists, but locals also frequent this comfort food haven for its burgers, sandwiches and creamy lobster mac ‘n’ cheese. Grab a seat on the first floor in the bustling bar area with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, or head upstairs for a more intimate dining experience. The Cuban sliders are a must --- a trio of sandwiches filled with pork, smoked ham, salami and Swiss served with a side of slaw. “Really Good Fried Pickles” are crisp and tangy. If you’re seeking a snack, pair a glass of Pinot Noir with one of the wood-grilled flatbread pizzas, like the meat and potatoes version: grilled steak, shaved bacon and truffled mashed potatoes topped with blue cheese and Fontina. The meatloaf stack of ground beef, chorizo and Italian sausage on Texas toast comes in a surprisingly small portion, but complemented by a savory gravy is loaded with flavor. For dessert, don’t bypass the fried Twinkie with whipped cream and berries. Service can be a bit harried at times (especially when waiting for drinks) due to Anthem’s Faneuil Hall home.
