Carlucci Rosemont Restaurant Review:
Start your evening with a glass of wine in the warm wood-trimmed lounge of this near-O’Hare haunt. Then stroll to the earthy, old-world dining room with vaulted, beamed ceilings and distressed walls to enjoy familiar Tuscan-style fare. Spit-roasted meat and seafood and slow-simmered sauces pair with the likes of homemade chestnut-flour tagliatelle, hand-rolled pasta quills and chicken-and-ricotta-filled tortellini. Guanciale-wrapped scallops with fig vinaigrette successfully combine salty and sweet; smoky bucatini with chile-infused sauce heats things up quite nicely. Entrées range from lamb osso buco to apricot-glazed duck and veal piccata. Don’t leave without a slab of feather-light, cocoa-dusted tiramisu or a slice of cheesecake. Consider the Italian tapas-style bar bite menu, which includes sliced filet atop mascarpone polenta. Also located at 1801 Butterfield Rd., Downers Grove, 630-512-0990.
