THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Cat & Custard Cup Restaurant Review:
The Salisbury family, which built their reputation with Mexican food at L.A.'s El Cholo restaurants and the upscale Sonora Café, also owns this English Tudor establishment with a Cal-Continental menu. Manager-executive chef Creed Salisbury turns out filet mignon, lamb tenderloin, saké-soy glazed Chilean sea bass, and occasional game dishes like roasted red deer. Lobster bisque and French onion soup are usually on the menu, but in cold weather, a snifter of brandy by the fire in the Pub should warm you up. The only part of the meal that really matches the Dickensian décor is the trifle dessert. There's also a nice wine list, plays on classic cocktails and entertainment in the bar area.
