THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Ciao Cristina Restaurant Review:
Right across the street from Warner Brothers, Ciao Cristina offers pizzas, pastas and entrées that reveal an authentic Italian touch. Order a crisp Negroni (ask to have it made with Cynar) to prepare yourself for a creamy mound of burrata on a bed of arugula and cherry tomatoes. The house-made pastas are good, and the grilled vegetables have just the right amount of char and are seasoned for a nice balance. Try the grilled radicchio as a foil to any pasta with a rich cream sauce. The pasta all 'arrabiatta is a favorite, and while this dish is known for being spicy, you can have the heat adjusted to your taste. Secondi specialties include handmade southern Italian sausage, wild salmon, flat-iron steak and a medley of grilled vegetables. Affogato with cinnamon gelato makes a memorable finish. The wine list consists primarily of vintages from northern and central Italy, with a sprinkling of northern California wines. Ciao Cristina draws a boisterous after-work crowd and can be noisy, especially during happy hour, as entertainment industry types crowd the bar. But a little later things quiet down as patrons settle into dinner and wine.
