Cru Cafe Restaurant Review:

A food lover's oasis near the heart of the bustling City Market, Cru Café is the work of chef-owner John Zucker. He builds his lunch and dinner menus around an eclectic mix of low country standards and Asian inspiration. Salads such as duck confit with arugula, caramelized pecans and port wine vinaigrette may be super-sized into a complete meal. Small plates for sharing include fried green tomato with smoked pork belly and feta. Comforting dishes involving rice and pasta range from Thai seafood risotto to garlic scallops with angel hair pasta. Hearty entrées like barbecue Berkshire pork osso buco and à la carte items featuring Certified Angus beef round out the line-up. The warm, flourless chocolate torte has led the dessert list for quite a while. All bottles of wine are available by the glass, yet the bottles are well priced making them perhaps a better choice for the table, and brews highlight locally crafted labels.
