Dakota Jazz Club & Restaurant Restaurant Review:
The Dakota's location in downtown Minneapolis makes the dining scene as hot as the jazz scene. While it has always been known as one of the Twin Cities best places to catch serious blues and jazz acts, it's also known for putting serious food in the spotlight. The menu leans toward Midwestern comfort food: Niman Ranch beef shoulder spiced with cinnamon and saffron sitting pretty with polenta, and grilled organic salmon with a kicky tomato dressing and corn relish. Lunchers are treated to a spicy grilled bison sandwich or a macaroni and cheese plate with black trumpet mushrooms and smoked ham. If you're snacking in the bar, don't miss the cornmeal crab and catfish cakes which love a tall frosty beer. The digs are sleek and cool, and the servers are well-trained to be unobtrusive, as they know the true show is on the stage.
