THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Family Meal Restaurant Review:
Chef Bryan Voltaggio has hit a home run with his Family Meal. Located in an abandoned Nissan dealership, this spot offers classic American home-style cooking with a few subtle twists: fried green tomatoes topped with candied bacon pecans, and a pimento cheese dip stirred with smoky bacon flavors and served with pickled vegetables. But wait: the kitchen crew takes the American burger and turns it into a cheddar-bacon-caramelized onion wonder. If you are looking for something slightly less caloric, try one of the salads, such as the tuna with seared fish accompanied by avocado slices and a hard-boiled egg. For beverages, there are standard milkshakes and an adult version laced with alcohol --- flavors rotate. All patrons should save room for dessert, and if the lemon meringue pie with blueberry compote and ice cream is offered, snap it up. A breakfast must is the stack of buttermilk pancakes with an apple compote, while the dinner menu features mainstays like fried chicken.
