Julienne Fine Foods & Celebrations Restaurant Review:

This little café-bistro, with its marble tables spilling out onto the sidewalk in “downtown” San Marino, is sometimes dismissed as simply a place for well-heeled ladies who lunch. However, Julienne effectively rebuts that narrow reputation. The cooking is Provençal-style and seasonal, and you can enjoy a lunch of chicken-tarragon salad with house-baked rosemary bread, Parmesan-crusted swordfish in lemon-caper sauce, or a simple, classic French onion soup and croque monsieur. A short, moderately priced and thoughtful wine list is offered, too. Breakfasts present the likes of omelets and house-made granola; Saturday brunch features the signature baked crème brûlée french toast. The restaurant boasts a polished interior fashioned after an upscale Provençal bistro, and it’s regularly rented out for parties in the evening hours. Julienne is also one of the area’s top catering companies.
