Lugo Cucina Italiana Restaurant Review:
Spacious and chicly designed, this Italian restaurant tends to slip under the radar. And no wonder: it sits smack in the shadow of Madison Square Garden. The menu doesn’t focus on one particular region or area of Italy, instead offering variations on dishes originating from the tip to the top of the boot, including decent pizza. We like the truffle-dusted gnocchi, baseball-size meatballs, and scallops wading in a pool of cauliflower purée and crispy pieces of prosciutto. The wine list probably won’t impress a devout oenophile, but there are several good selections by the glass.
