Orchid Cafe II Restaurant Review:
A modest spin-off of the original Orchid Café, this locale offers its dishes mostly by carry-out but still serves the same first-rate food. (There also are a few tables for those who want to dine in.) The authentic Thai menu is the same at both restaurants, starting with the royal crispy rolls, small bundles of rice paper-wrapped ground chicken, shrimp, bean threads, mushrooms and water chestnuts served with lettuce leaves, cilantro and a sweet-and-sour dipping sauce). Other faves include boneless duck curry, fried rice and pad thai as well as house specialties like salmon mango curry---crispy, fried salmon sautéed with coconut milk, red curry, Thai basil, pineapple, mango, cherry tomatoes and white onions.
