Sushi Boat Kazoo Restaurant Review:
Most people seem to come to Kazoo for the sushi, especially the inventive combinations found in some of the rolls. Grab a seat at the bar and watch the boats float by, with rolls such as the Nutcracker (avocado and chopped walnuts topped with eel), the Godzilla (filled with salmon skin and topped with avocado, eel and masago), and the Spicy Mr. Nobu (filled with mayo crab and topped with shrimp, avocado and a spicy sauce). Sushi chefs are at the ready for special requests. Diners at the sushi bar can also order off the menu. There’s a limited selection of Japanese dishes, ranging from donburi and udon to teriyaki and tempura. The ample bento boxes are a bargain, although the tempura could be a bit crisper. There are a number of vegetarian dishes, especially on the appetizer menu. Ice cream dominates the dessert selection. Saké lovers will find a small selection of good-quality imports. There’s also a Kazoo location in San Jose’s Japantown neighborhood.
