THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Meze Estiatorio Restaurant Review:
When Paul Delios burst onto the Charlestown scene with Paolo's Trattoria, it was at the time Olives' only real competitor. For his second act, he's upped the ante with one of the city's only full-service, upscale Greek restaurants. There's a wood-burning oven, open kitchen, wine bar and plenty of bonhomie in the air. The food skews lusty and regional, be it pastitsio from Syros---a lamb- and yogurt-topped baked pasta---or Cretan-spice-rubbed grilled pork. Though there are some fusionesque moments---a pesto cream here, a wasabi gastrique there---the Greek point is never lost. At Mezé, in fact, it is made with gusto---indeed italicized, so to speak, by a superb, mostly Greek wine list.
