THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Miss Irene's Restaurant Review:
Talk about your extreme makeovers! A few short years ago, Miss Irene’s was a rough-around-the-edges Fells Point bar. The transformation from scruffy to spiffy cost its current owners plenty of time and money, but it’s easy to see where all the effort went. It’s now a spotless, sophisticated restaurant, with a medieval-meets-modern dining room and a menu of upscale Continental fare. At dinner, dine fine on such choices as carpaccio, duck risotto, coq au vin, braised lamb shank, or homemade pasta with walnuts, dates, figs, Humboldt Fog cheese and lobster. At lunch, the menu is more casual, with a Wagyu burger and an assortment of classy sandwiches. If the galette---a French apple tart with puff pastry crust and warm caramel sauce---is on the dessert menu, order it. If Irene Glyphis’s ghost lingers, she's surely impressed with her elegant namesake.
