Mission Chinese Food Restaurant Review:
Founded by chefs Danny Bowien and Anthony Myint, Mission Chinese Food is actually a sub-restaurant that's housed inside another Chinese eatery called Lung Shan. Despite the crazy set-up and the shabby digs --- cheap tables and chairs and old wallpaper accented by festive lights --- the restaurant is routinely packed. The menu sports some of the spiciest, most creative Sichuan-inspired cuisine in the city. In fact, it might just be the spot to toss your list of likes and dislikes aside and jump right in. Diners line up early for dishes such as Thrice Cooked Bacon, Kung Pao Pastrami, Lamb Face Noodle Soup and Mouth Watering Chicken. It's not the most authentic Chinese fare, but it's also not fusion. What is it? Good, hot (seriously hot if you aren't careful) and honest food created with quality meat and produce. If you go, prepare to be surprised.
