Morimoto Maui Restaurant Review:

Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort is home to Morimoto Maui, chef Masaharu Morimoto’s first restaurant on the island. Morimoto Maui overlooks the shoreline and features a poolside outdoor terrace and bar as well as a 50-plus-seat indoor dining room. The architecture is modern and clean, but inviting. The sushi menu is extensive with sustainable ahi, whitefish, eel, caviars, pickled vegetables and almost anything you can think of placed on a pad of seasoned rice with nori. Available, too, is a surprising selection of Asian-inspired flatbreads (the kakuni with glazed pork belly, kimchi, unagi sauce) and sandwiches (the mori cristo combining yellowtail, avocado, spicy aïoli). Rest assured that the chef’s classics are also offered: rice bowls and ramens.
