THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mrs. Simpson's Restaurant Review:
Anglophiles will adore this tiny restaurant with its comprehensive collection of Mrs. Simpson memorabilia---yes, that Mrs. Simpson, who won the heart and hand of a British monarch. As charming as a ladys tearoom with its fresh flowers, this Mrs. Simpson makes a big fuss over food. We have thoroughly enjoyed the restful brunch whipped up by executive chef Aimé Adompo, including the Duchess Brunch with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, the Mrs. Simpsons single crab cake, and the french toast with berries and maple syrup. Our favorite: the Belgian waffle with melted butter and maple syrup. We suggest starting with the worthy onion soup, though you may prefer the lighter garden salad. Dinners encompass pasta, risotto, a magret of duck and a dish called An English Tradition with calfs liver. The coffee is strongly bracing, and if you have room finish with a slice of carrot cake or cheesecake.
