THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Nick's at the Beach Restaurant Review:
Nick's may be a nice beach restaurant, but that doesn't mean we can't wear our jeans or shorts or just about whatever we feel like in this super-friendly, lively spot. Not surprisingly, the lengthy menu features seafood, with spicy crab cakes with corn sauce and chipotle mayonnaise as a fiery starter. Mussels steamed in tomatillos, lime and cilantro; tortilla-crusted mahi mahi; and sea bass chilaquiles baked in a cornhusk with roasted red pepper salsa are house favorites. There are, however, plenty of seafood alternatives, including entrée-size salads, pastas and even a good burger. Among the standouts are the prosciutto and blue cheese stuffed chicken breast and grilled flat-iron steak with roasted garlic potatoes. Nick's tiramisu is a solid sweet ending. Happy hour specials and finger foods please the sports bar-minded upstairs. Hearty breakfasts and savory bacon Bloody Marys appeal to the hangover crowd.
