Papermoon Diner Restaurant Review:
The Papermoon Diner is a piece of work. In fact, the whole place could be packed up and installed at the American Visionary Art Museum. Mannequins encrusted with vintage toys and assorted gewgaws, blinged-out statuary of farm animals, more colors than a jumbo Crayola pack…the décor is mind-blowing, and can be either delightful or disturbing, depending on one’s opinion of Papermoon’s over-the-top brand of quirk. However, despite a few “visionary” touches --- ever had a bacon-and-maple syrup milk shake? Do try it --- the menu is pure Americana, from comfort-food classics like meatloaf sandwiches and a turkey dinner to a huge variety of sandwiches, wraps and quesadillas. Papermoon is best known for its breakfast and brunch fare, though, and Baltimoreans who have sampled the french toast and well-stuffed omelets don’t mind standing in line. (Warning: During peak hours, singletons are seated only at the bar.) Kids naturally love this place, and have their own menu.
