THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Paramount Grill Restaurant Review:
Chef Allen Susser of Chef Allens has teamed up with the proprietors of Turnberry Isle Resort and Country Club to open Paramount Grill, located in the old TuTu Tango space at the Aventura Mall. Stylish and sleek, Sussers latest endeavor is a 250-seat restaurant with a menu featuring casual American eats at decent prices, a far cry from the formality, fare, and price tag of a Chef Allens experience. A wood-burning oven produces gourmet pizzas, but you can do better elsewhere. Salads are ordinary, some more interesting than others, such as the shrimp and arugula salad with artichokes and white beans. Herb-roasted rack of lamb with hash browns and goat cheese is about as enticing as it gets on the main course side of the menu. They cover all the bases---from rotisserie birds to quesadillas to steaks and seafood---and offer raw bar items and ceviche. Its not an ambitious restaurant, and the menu items we had were overly simple and lacking in flavor.
