THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Park Bench Restaurant Review:
Once a popular pizza joint named Jagger's, Park Bench retains the old wooden booth and table in the window, familiar to generations of Emory University students. The menu sports good bar food, like a roasted turkey, bacon, tomato, Swiss cheese and Thousand Island dressing sandwich served on toasted rye bread, or a pretty standard Philly cheese steak. The big steak fries are made on premises, but if they're not freshly done, they can come out quite soggy. Go for the very fine cole slaw in place of the potatoes. This place is so Emory-popular some folks have even chosen it for their wedding rehearsal dinners, a token of their having met there. The pizza quality has survived the change of ownership intact, so you'll find even the famous Jagger deep-dish pizza on the menu. A second location at 256 E. Paces Ferry Rd., in Buckhead, 404-264-l334, lacks the friendliness of this location and serves very little food, being mostly a bar where guys gather.
