THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Perennial Restaurant Review:

THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES TO PERENNIAL VIRANT. Yes, Perennial is located directly across the street from Lincoln Park---but that wasn’t the inspiration for its green-sounding name. Owners Rob Katz and Kevin Boehm, who also own Boka and Landmark, found the moniker for their restaurant in one of their favorite wines. Of course, there is a strong sense of seasonality going on here---look for produce from twice-a-week Green City Market nearby to make plenty of guest appearances on the menu. There’s lots of star-chef-power going on at this chic American bistro, too: Paul Virant (Vie) is in the kitchen, and he will upend the menu soon. In the past, we enjoyed the “wings & beer” starter, with its beautiful frenched confit chicken legs, beer-braised onions and blue cheese foam. The menu may also include the likes of glazed chicken lollipops with soy reduction, orange and cashews. From there, move on to flat-iron steak with flavorful black pepper bordelaise or house-made linguine with clam sauce. Head straight to the lovely patio during warm weather.
