THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Piatti Restaurant Review:
Piattis are everywhere but in San Francisco, a conscious choice of restaurateur Claude Rouas, proprietor of the fancy Auberge du Soleil, and partner Bob Harmon. Who needs San Francisco if you have 16 venues in the surrounding suburbs? The Piattis have clearly come up with a winning formula: a little pizza, a little pasta, some grilled specialties-all served in the sort of warm, unpretentious trattoria setting that makes Italian food feel so, well, Italian. What to order? The handmade gnocchi is outstanding, and so are the daily seafood specials. The wine list combines wine-country favorites with selected Italian bottlings.
