Who can forget chef Spike Mendelsohn on Top Chef, he with the rakish fedora and the out-there cooking personality? He has now doubled his image on Capitol Hill with the opening of We, the Pizza, the next-door sister restaurant to his Good Stuff Eatery. Serving freshly made pizzas, plus a select number of pastas, subs and salads, and serving unusual gelatos, this pizza destination is a slice of pie heaven on the Hill. You can’t beat the white pizza with its oozing cheeses or the sausage-pepper combo. Crowded at lunchtime with Hill staffers, We, the Pizza offers upstairs or alfresco seating, plus a few standing-room-only small countertops.
