Plaza Azteca Restaurant Review:

Plaza Azteca restaurants offer Tex-Mex and Mexican fare. There are several outlets in the metro area, and the Leesburg location certainly shows off the brand’s popularity. Patrons crowd the place at lunchtime on the weekends, gathering for a convivial meal of tacos, enchiladas, nachos and fajitas. Start with the queso fundido, which here is called “choriqueso,” referring to chorizo, a Mexican sausage that adds to the dish of gooey melted cheese --- the portion is enough for two people so plan to share. Even the burritos are imaginative, such as the San José, a flour tortilla stuffed with chicken, chorizo, and rice and beans. And if you are a traditionalist, the chile relleno is topnotch. Desserts include sopapillas, flan and fried ice cream; tres leches cake is also available although it isn’t on the menu. Looking for Mexican brews? Ask about the beers list.
