THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Portage Restaurant Review:
Noting a lack of dining options in this Northwest side neighborhood, Quay Tao (formerly of Tizi Melloul) rolled out the welcome mat to his Portage Park neighbors, beckoning them to his cozy 28-seat dining room and outdoor patio with budget-friendly American fare. Blue jean-sporting servers are as easygoing as they come, and the jovial management mingles with diners, who run the gamut from thirtysomething couples to raucous groups of girlfriends to blogging foodies. Dishes are packed with local ingredients and tasty Southern touches. We suggest the bacon-wrapped dates and the pork belly with wild mushrooms, poached asparagus and apple/rosemary preserves.
