This restaurant took over the space that was once the venerable Café Lucy, and it's now an even warmer experience. Posticino serves up satisfying zuppes, antipastas, primis and secondis in a casually elegant, remodeled downtown Napa location. Posticino is building a following of people looking for old-fashioned Italian-inspired excellence, without paying up-Valley prices. It also stresses the use of all-natural, hormone and antibiotic-free beef and seafood. The calamari fritti indeed tasted bold, yet remained light and fresh. Persuasive pastas include tagiatelle verdi alla Bolognese and gnocchi con ragu di coniglio. There's a decent, balanced wine list with a moderate corkage fee. A fine addition to the Napa scene, Posticino should be tried by visitors and locals alike.
