THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Pour House Bar & Grill Restaurant Review:
Pub grub flies out of the kitchen at The Pour House Bar & Grill from early in the morning until the wee hours of the night, but the food is better than average, especially at brunch. No frills and large pours of local microbrews are what the place is all about. The huge menu accounts for all lowbrow tastes, ranging from fair-to-middling overstuffed omelets and hearty pancakes to moist chicken Cordon Bleu and juicy steak tips. Appetizers lean toward the greasier side, with sweet potato tater tots, popcorn shrimp, beer-battered onion rings, and “wet” fries served with turkey or beef gravy (or chili and cheese). There’s a Thanksgiving-style sandwich that layers turkey and stuffing, and wraps like the blackened chicken Caesar. Heartier offerings include meatloaf stacked on Texas toast, spicy jambalaya, golden fish ‘n’ chips, overstuffed burritos and burgers galore, even a Texas burger topped with bacon, onions and cheddar and slathered with barbecue sauce. Dessert is limited to ice cream.
