Quanto Basta Restaurant Review:
Italian themes permeate the kitchen, the décor and the wine selection, which is Italian and Californian. A few are available by the glass, and they're good choices. Start off with prosciutto-wrapped figs, a lovely fall concept here marred by puddles of over-reduced balsamic vinegar. Pasta carbonara is nicely done, not overdressed, and rich without being drowned in cream. Duck with gnocchi is a notch too rare. For dessert, check out the hazelnut terrine on caramel sauce, two wedges of rich, thinly sliced, not-too-sweet chocolate with the texture enriched by ground hazelnuts. Quite lovely, it's plenty for two. Ask about wine tastings, held the third Wednesday of the month.
