The flavors and scents of southern Europe, northern Africa and the Middle East swirl together under chef Lisa Slay’s hand, inviting a mix-and-match Mediterranean meal. Happy hour is prime time for sharing cheesy spinach-and-chicken cannelloni, beef kebabs with tamarind-honey glaze, and mussels with chorizo and garbanzo beans. Paired with flights from the notable wine list, these small plates and sharable sides can make for a festive evening among friends. It can also add up to a serious learning experience, especially on Tuesdays when Slay picks a theme and runs with it in a three-course tasting menu focused around wine styles. Seafood entrées are especially tempting, particularly when it comes to the Tuscan seafood stew and the mahi mahi with shrimp atop French green lentils. Most of the dinner menu shows up at lunch, too, with smaller portions and quick turnaround. And while the overall approach focuses on healthful fare, the bread pudding is a tasty departure: rich and liberally laced with brandy.
