THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Rice Paper Bistro Restaurant Review:
Located near the border of Garden Grove and Santa Ana, this tiny venue does a good job of showcasing the complex, intriguing flavors of Little Saigon. Owner and executive chef Lee Nguyen’s menu changes with the seasons as well as the kitchen’s whim, but each dish is created with a nod to taste balance and careful preparation. Adventurous guests will want to start off with a plate of crispy, slightly spicy frogs’ legs or the snails with garlic sauce --- a selection that casually acknowledges the French influence on Vietnamese cuisine. The grilled squid and mango salad makes for a good mid-meal sharing option. Mains range from lamb with garlic noodles and lemongrass chicken with crispy rice to classics like beef satay. Don’t forget to order a Mason jar of Saigon ice tea featuring fruit.
