Chic and comfortable, Cavalli offers more than just what meets the eye. At a glance, the menu consists of the usual Italian suspects: pastas, meat and fish. But a closer look reveals a myriad of original and inventive dishes. Influences from the Middle East to Asia can be found. Although this fusion cuisine is not new, here it is adventurous. Try the white fish sashimi with bitter leaves and tamari sauce for starters then venture into entrées such as the pine nut-crusted filet mignon with mushrooms served with spelt risotto, Swiss chard, grilled artichokes and pine nut emulsion. Finales range from panna cotta, chocolate ice cream and crème brûlée to the decadent bitter chocolate cream with lemon essence cheesecake. The wine list is carefully chosen from the world's premier wine-growing regions; the dessert wine list is especially notable.
