In a city that relishes outdoor dining, Rittenhouse Tavern stands out from the crowd. It’s the latest restaurant to inhabit the gracious dining space in the historic circa 1906 Wetherill Mansion that is the Philadelphia Art Alliance. The beautifully composed modern American cuisine is best enjoyed in the restaurant’s charming hidden garden. Working with chef collaborator Ed Brown of Restaurant Associates, the kitchen turns out dishes like ricotta gnocchi, shrimp, English peas and preserved lemon; and a roasted heritage pork chop accented with shallot cream. Sparkling, red, white and dessert wines are available.
