THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Saffron Restaurant Review:
THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES TO MARSTELLERZ AT THE WALKER HOUSE. Located in a restored nineteenth-century home is this charmer where family occasions and first dates alike are enjoyed in an intimate dining room or outside on a wraparound veranda. The cooking is relatively conservative, with steaks, fresh fish and osso buco dominating the menu, along with a solid burger topped with smoked Gouda, caramelized onions and a jalapeño aïoli, followed by bread pudding or crème brûlée. On a nice day, brunch on the landmark’s patio---Belgian waffles, steak and eggs or buttermilk fried chicken---makes for a deserving escape before facing the work week. An attractively priced high tea, which fits beautifully with the Victorian architecture, is offered every third Saturday afternoon.
