THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Salare Restaurant Restaurant Review:
This Ravenna restaurant's mint-green paint paired with big windows is refreshing, which is the exact word to describe chef Edouardo Jordan's food. Whether you settle in at the chef's counter, the small square tables, the bar or the communal table, you may order Northwest oysters or pickled vegetables. If you stop in for a snack or a full meal of duck with ramps, quinoa, liver mousse, shallots and huckleberries, you can count on finding the same sort of high-end Northwest-inspired fare Jordan cooked at renowned Matt Dillon establishments, only now woven with a hint of his Southern background. At the end of a meal, dessert also takes simple ingredients and translates them into something fancy. Rhubarb pavlova might be accompanied by rose gelato, sumac, mint and rhubarb fennel coulis. The weekend brunch menu is constantly changing, but expect interesting offerings like beignets and apple butter; merguez hash with griddled potatoes and a fried egg; and cow's milk yogurt with pistachio granola, tart cherries, dried apricots and lemon curd. Cocktails star on the drinks menu, especially those employing apéritifs and vermouths. But the small wine list shows off a quirky note with orange wines; it leans towards Europe, but occasionally spans the globe to South Africa or Australia.
