THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Sarkhel’s has suffered of late and is not producing the top cooking of previous years, possibly because of its big expansion. The menu runs its familiar course: tandoor chicken tikka flavoured with fenugreek leaves or the street snack of battered fish with powdered pomegranate seeds, followed by ginger flavoured lamb chops or one of the curries. Moving along, try the dum ka biryani, properly cooked in a sealed pot---moist, subtly perfumed and one of the best dishes. Service is warm and friendly; wines have been given serious consideration.
