Satsuma Cafe Restaurant Review:
Uptown’s Satsuma Café offers a menu of healthful breakfasts and lunches. Light fare rules, with rich, grainy breads; freshly squeezed juices (try the Popeye with its spinach, lemon, kale and apple --- it tastes much better than it sounds); sandwiches (the roasted pear and Brie melt is light and flavorful); and a quinoa salad with chickpeas, spinach, cherry tomatoes and feta cheese. Ginger cake is a nice ending to a Satsuma experience. With its big windows and bright yellow walls, this is a great place to linger over a Sunday breakfast with the green eggs and ham sandwich. Also located in the Bywater, 3218 Dauphine St., 504-304-5962.
