Shanghai Cafe Restaurant Review:
This popular spot on Mott Street isn’t the kind of big box dim sum establishment for which Chinatown is known. Instead, it’s more like a jewel box. So expect to wait, but you most likely won’t be disappointed. Any meal should start off with a round of the pork and crab dumplings. The Shanghai rice cakes --- silver dollar size --- are better than they sound (they come in savory stew-like sauce), while shredded pork, chicken and shrimp over rice is a crowd-pleaser. There are also plenty of hot pots, stir-fried dishes, and soups for the heartiest of appetites.
