THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Shells Restaurant Restaurant Review:
THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Here's another successful franchise to emerge from the seafood mecca known as the West Coast of Florida. Shells Restaurants are sprinkled throughout the South, and while the restaurants' shells---or buildings---may vary from place to place, the menu is the same and the emphasis is always heavily on seafood: catfish, shrimp, crab legs, lobster and fresh fish of the day. Many items are served with or on pasta. One of our favorites is seafood Siciliano, a seafood mix with tomatoes, mushrooms and onions sautéed in an Italian red sauce. Anti-seafood diners can find a few items for their tastes, too: New York strip steak, char-grilled chicken breast or our old favorite, surf 'n' turf. There could be a few more desserts on the menu, but the informal atmosphere allows spur-of-the-moment access to good food.
