The exterior of the restaurant is plain, the neighborhood undistinguished, but the welcome and food at Siam make it worthy of a visit. The cars whizzing by the busy corner of Lincoln and Manchester might as well be miles away, because all is peaceful inside, where hand-carved lamps and screens lend an exotic feel. The menu offers good standard Thai fare with a few modern touches, with the grilled beef salad and duck dishes highly recommended. Thai beer, some wine and a full bar are available for those who like something a little stronger than the usual Thai iced tea.
