THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sip Wine Bar & Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Sip’s living room-style lounge, outdoor patio, bar stool seating and elegant tables make it a favorite financial district destination. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the dining room offer sparkling views of the city and Elliott Bay. An “American cuisine” menu offers a limited selection of small plates and entrées. Small plate options include clams simmered in a house red curry, Italian flatbread christened with tomato sauce and slices of fresh mozzarella, mini sirloin sliders with pepper mayo, plus a selection of soups and salads. Entrées feature Angus tenderloin with an ancho pepper rub, a lamb burger with mint yogurt, and jumbo tiger prawns wrapped in prosciutto. Vegetarians can choose the ravioli of the moment or a combination of “extra” dishes, such as grilled artichokes and corn polenta. For all dinners, a side of the potato frites with truffled Parmesan cheese is a must. Desserts include a duo of vanilla and cappuccino ice creams topped with caramel sauce or pastries filled with mascarpone and lemon curd. The wine list is extensive with carefully chosen wine flights, but wine by the glass leans towards spendy, except during happy hour.
