Located on an increasingly busy stretch of 7th Street, close to bustling Bottega Louie, Soi 7 presents a refreshingly modern take on Thai cuisine, and the kitchen happily neglects international boundaries to include influences from other Asian cuisines. You’ll naturally find pad thai and satay on the menu, but small plates also include pumpkin-ginger soup, duck rolls and refreshing green papaya salad. For larger plates, there’s the ubiquitous "crying tiger," as well as Thai whiskey baby-back ribs and ocean trout in panang curry sauce. A variety of teas is offered, which are available in loose leaf form for purchase, too. There are saké cocktails and an extensive list of cold saké with descriptions of flavor profiles to assist in decision-making. For dessert, consider mango sticky rice at this hip, contemporary restaurant with classic accents.
