South Congress Cafe
Mod little eatery serves terrific Cajun-Southwestern fare in trendy SoCo area.
South Congress Cafe Restaurant Review:
South Congress Café’s surprisingly affordable menu combines Southwestern flair with more European traditions. Case in point: pan-roasted duck breast with sage quinoa and pomegranate reduction shares space with blackened sea bass accompanied by wild boar smoked sausage, shishito peppers and cilantro pesto. Portions are generous, so we tend to share dishes such as the jalapeño-venison meatloaf. Have a hankering for Cajun fare? The warm bowl of gumbo is punched up with duck, oysters and piquant andouille sausage. Non-carnivores have many options, including the "very bleu" salad of crisp greens with mild Danish blue cheese and toasted pecans, or the angel hair salsa fresca. Seven days a week, brunch is a bonanza of hangover-curing delights, most notably the carrot cake french toast with cream cheese pecan syrup.
