The South Side Restaurant Review:
Housed inside a nineteenth-century Tremont rehab, The South Side draws crowds with classy libations and inexpensive noshes. A large, green-swathed patio offers outdoor dining, while the interior boasts industrial, urban-chic styling and a serpentine granite bar. The menu features everything from fish tacos to a rib-eye Philly. Start with the sausage flatbread topped with spicy andouille, sweet Italian sausage and roasted red peppers. Follow with the pulled pork or the crispy chicken prosciutto sandwich, but ditch the accompanying homemade potato chips and replace them with onion rings as big as your palm. If you’re tip-toeing through the entrée section, we suggest the tempura-battered chicken served with a Belgian waffle and hot sauce. The beer list includes some good finds; wine selections are serviceable. Desserts are limited, but worth the calories. Opt for the s'mores crème brûlée or the chocolate cake.
